MY WELL SELF Code of Conduct

There are two Code of Conduct policies available from My Well Self:

1. Code of Conduct for MY WELL SELF Public Members and Code of Conduct for MY WELL SELF Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers

Public Members Code of Conduct

My Well Self is a health and mental wellness marketplace where consumers can make better informed decisions in their health wellness and/or mental wellness journey.

The My Well Self Code of Conduct outlines what we expect from you, and what you should expect from others. Ensure to review the My Well Self Terms of Service if you need a better understand of what is expected when on the My Well Self website.

The My Well Self Community consists of public members, Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers and My Well Self staff. All community members are treated equally under these guidelines.

My Well Self does not discriminate based on positive or negative views, or on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender orientation, disability or status. Anti-convention treatment philosophies will not be tolerated under any means.

Practice Mutual Respect

My Well Self hosts diverse points of view. We expect you to show respect for all members of the community. Anti-convention treatment philosophies will not be tolerated under any means.

Avoid Personal Attacks

Negative opinions and disagreements are fine, but it’s not appropriate to use the My Well Self platform to bully, name-call or insult other community members. Follow the rules of good debating and address the issue, not the person.

Maintain the Security of Your Account

You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your My Well Self account.

Share Your Own Experience

Use My Well Self to share your opinions. Don’t post duplicate content, share hearsay or gossip from others, or use the platform to rally support for a campaign or agenda (e.g. lawsuit or group action).

What’s Not Allowed:

Do not use My Well Self to post:

1. a. Medical treatment protocols
2. b. Anti-conventional medicine comments; you may say that conventional medicine did not work for you personally but you may not promote any anti-conventional medicine practices that convince others to not seek conventional medicinal treatment.
3. c. Discussions of suicide, violence or self-harm, including self-administering procedures without a regulated/accredited health practitioner.
4. d. Sexual content or unwelcome sexual attention toward others
5. e. Anything illegal (drug use including unregulated marijuana, criminal activity, extortion, blackmail, threats, harassment, etc.)
6. f. Third-party content, including copyrighted material or text, photos or video copied from another source.
7. g. Links to non-My Well Self web pages
8. h. Contact information
9. i. Anything for which the My Well Self website is not intended (e.g, spam, donation requests, offers to purchase surgery for another user, or buying and selling any products)

Avoid Conflicts of Interest

Unless otherwise directed, you may only use My Well Self as a consumer. (Using My Well Self as a Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers requires activation).

Do not use My Well Self to promote your own interests or those of anyone you know, including family, friends, affiliates or employers. This includes both:

Business interests

You or someone you know stands to gain additional business or money because of something you’ve posted.

Personal interests

You or someone you know stands to gain an advantage in a medical or personal relationship because of something you’ve posted.

In short, do not post if you or someone you know stands to gain anything from your post.

Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers Code of Conduct

In addition to the Code of Conduct above, these additional guidelines apply to Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers on My Well Self:

Maintain Professionalism

Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers are expected to maintain professionalism at all times on My Well Self. Do not bully or post disparaging comments about public members, other Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers or My Well Self.

Anti-conventional medicine comments will not be tolerated. You may show data driven evidence from a credible peer reviewed resource of how complementary and alternative medicine may have advantages over conventional medicine but you may not promote any anti-conventional medicine practices that convince others to not seek conventional medicinal treatment.

Comply with PIPEDA

Do not post any content that violates The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) or other applicable health-privacy laws. Consider the privacy and safety of all community members.

Conflicts of Interest

Endorsements - Clearly explain any conflicts of interest, including products, brands and research funded by third parties. For example, if you are receiving money from a brand whose product you endorse, clearly define this relationship in all relevant posts.

Reviews - You may not solicit or receive reviews from anyone with a personal or professional bias. This includes past and present employees, colleagues and family members. You also may not use third-party services to collect and post reviews on behalf of public members.

Ethics - The mission of My Well Self is to help consumers make informed decisions about Complementary and Alternative Health Care treatment. False reviews, “helpful vote” abuse and other dishonest gaming practices erode trust and will not be tolerated.

Disciplinary Action - Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers who violate the Terms of Service, Code of Conduct or any applicable policies may have their profiles suspended, limited or removed, temporarily or permanently, in My Well Self’s sole discretion.

My Well Self may also conduct periodic audits of a Health Wellness and Mental Wellness Providers’ profile in order to ensure compliance.

Want to Dispute a Review on My Well Self?

We only remove reviews that violate our Terms of Service. We do not remove reviews on request. If you want a certain review removed because you believe it violates our Terms, please submit your dispute in writing via our online dispute form.
